INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING
Individual counselling is often termed as psychotherapy, and is meant to help people with their emotional issues, which can range in order of their severity or intensity. The main aim of this form of therapy is to change the quality of life by defining the path of life clearly, and bringing in more clarity. Whether it is the problem of repressed childhood that the individual is facing, or an emotional breakdown due failure or loss of a loved one, or unable to cope with daily stress, we at Aananda can help you revive your mental health through systematic counselling.
Some of the issues dealt in Individual Counselling are:
- Stress and Emotional Regulation (Sadness, Anger, Aggression, Fear and Phobias)
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Adolescent Issues
- Low Self-Esteem
- Low Confidence
- Self-Image
- Lack of Assertiveness
RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLING
Issues involving relationships are often results of deep-rooted insecurities, beliefs and lack of proper communication between individuals. Often, articulating the ‘unspoken’ and re-approaching the relationship dynamics, resolves the issues between individuals. A therapist plays an important role by offering valuable insights and framework, thereby allowing the individuals recognize their roles and responsibilities within a relationship in a positive way.
CAREER GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING
Career counselling is a systematic approach to align the professional aspirations of an individual with respect to his strengths, depending upon his/her own personality and preferences. Here at Aananda, we deploy specialized assessment tools developed by psychologists after intensive research. This test can be undertaken by students after age 14, and by professionals who wish to reconsider their career options.
Each career assessment programme consists of psychometric assessment and three counselling sessions. Further counselling sessions if required do not attract additional financial inputs.
Some of the questions that career counselling addresses:
- Which stream to choose after 10th?
- What career path to select after 12th?
- What career options are available in a particular field?
- Is a specific career option suitable for me?
- Is it good to have backup plans? If yes, how many?
PARENT EDUCATION/COUNSELLING
‘You cannot prepare the road for the child, but you can prepare the child for the road’. Parenting is not about comparing your childhood with a developing individual or child, but about assessing the present circumstance and its effects on the child. It is about being with and for the child. At Aananda, we encourage parents to speak about the issues they face and then help them understand their style of parenting and come up with alternate healthy methods of interacting with their children. The parent education or parent counselling sessions are based on theories that have evolved after in-depth research and is a collaborative process with the counsellor.
